With The Walking Dead already making a name for itself on TV screens, another popular title from Image Comics is about to make the leap to the big screen. Not only will the twisted cop drama, Chew, be made into an animated feature, but it also has a major rising star cast in the lead.

Written by John Layman and drawn by artist Rob Guillory, the Chew series centers on a detective named Tony Chu, who happens to be a "cibopath." As a cibopath, Chu feels the psychic impressions of whatever food he eats. If he bites into a hamburger, then Chu will automatically gain the history of where the hamburger came from, starting with the cow. As a detective, Chu would feel the psychic impressions of the murdered victim if he ate their finger.

The Hollywood Reporter has announced that actor Steven Yuen, known as Glenn in The Walking Dead, will voice the role of Chu. Layman has written the script and will serve alongside co-creator Guillory as executive producers. Jeff Krelitz (Torchwood: Web of Lies) is already on board to direct the animated project.

Supernatural's Felicia Day will also be starring in the animated movie with Yuen. Day will voice the role of Chu's love interest, Amelia Mintz. As a "saboscrivner," Mintz is a food critic who can actually make her readers taste what she is describing. This actually helps Chu in their relationship because he is always starving and cannot eat anything that has feelings.

Make sure to pick up the popular title, Chew, from Image Comics before it becomes an animated feature. We'll just have to wait for now before we hear actor Steven Yuen playing voice of Chew's ciobopathic detective.
