Kevin Feige is a busy man in the movie world as the President of Production at Marvel Studios, but he continues to provide his thoughts and insights to fans via numerous interviews. His most recent one sheds light on a variety of topics in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, including the topic of death.

Agent Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg) met his end in The Avengers, but came back to life for Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) "died" in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, but it turned out to be a ruse. Feige recently spoke to Empire Magazine (via Comic Book Movie), which asked if Marvel ever really considered killing Nick Fury in Cap 2.

"We never actually discussed doing it, no," he replied. "Maybe as part of a very early general conversation. But it didn't go particularly far before the idea that ended up in the film came up."

The interview also touched on the possibility of a major death in The Avengers: Age of Ultron, and Feige more or less said the movies play by the comic books' rules.

"You never know. Again, we take our cues from the comics and everyone knows that in comics and soap operas, people die and come back," he said. "Except for Uncle Ben and Bucky, but oh! Bucky's going to come back and it's going to be awesome. When appropriate to the story, we certainly will not hesitate. Frigga is dead. She's not coming back. Big funeral."

Finally, he teased what to expect in Age of Ultron now that S.H.I.E.L.D. is no more.

"The dynamic certainly has changed. For us that was one of the benefits of doing this storyline, that it will force them to use something different in their next team-up than S.H.I.E.L.D., which basically provided the groundwork and the basis by which they assembled the first time."

What do you think of Feige's remarks? Would the MCU benefit from killing a character and sticking with it? Let us know in the comments below.
