The Chicago White Sox struggled beyond belief last season, but so far this year they appear to of well and truly moved thing around, and found a winning formula, and that's largely down to the form of hitting sensation Jose Abreu. He's been labelled the "Cuban Barry Bonds' before, and he was awared with a six-year, $68 million contract in October, but he's started to pay that off bit by bit.

He was sensational in Cuba, before landing in the MLB, hitting for fun, like a man against a child. People questioned his ability to hit against MLB pitching, but he's made that worry seem more than laughable so far. Friday night, Abreu went 2-for-4 with a home run, and then came to the plate with the bases loaded and two outs in the bottom of the ninth, and he hit the game winning grand slam. Talk about winning in style.

Many are wondering if the White Sox will be the team to watch in their division, and not the Detroit Tigers and the Cleveland Indians, and with Abreu in their team anything is possible. The starlet has tied Albert Pujols for the home run lead, and many believe he's just getting started. He now has nine home runs, and he's batting consistently, as well as powerfully.

The White Sox truly have a young star, but just how far can he take them? Abreu will be hoping the playoffs are within their reach. All he can do is keep this momentum going, and it'll be hard to keep the White Sox away from this years playoffs.
