Those who saw the post-credits scene in Thor: The Dark World back in November likely remember the appearance of the Collector, played by Benicio Del Toro. The character, also known as Taneleer Tivan, seems to be after the six Infinity Gems that would create the Infinity Gauntlet, a weapon of cosmic power. What fans may not recall is that the Collector's daughter Carina, played by Ophelia Lovibond, appeared briefly in the scene.

The actress and character return for Guardians of the Galaxy on Aug. 1, and Lovibond spoke briefly with Flicks and the City about her part in the movie.

"There's more of that kind of vibe going on in Guardians of the Galaxy," she said in reference to the post-credits scene from Thor: The Dark World. She also confirmed she mostly has scenes with Del Toro, but Carina also interacts with Peter Quill/Star-Lord (Chris Pratt) and Gamora (Zoe Saldana).

In related news, director James Gunn told Entertainment Weekly (via Comic Book Movie) that the movie is "definitely connected to Avengers 3." He doesn't say much beyond that, but given the characters' histories, it seems all but certain that the third installment would feature Thanos as its main villain with the Infinity Gauntlet as the focus.

Gunn also provided some more details about the characters in Guardians of the Galaxy. On Chris Pratt's Peter Quill aka Star-Lord, he said, "he was abducted from Earth (Missouri) at age 8 and raised in a group of thieves and smuggles called the Ravagers. He's good with the ladies and a little bit of a dick and very lucky."

He added, "Thanos slaughtered [Gamora's] family and Nebula's, then raised them together as siblings. They were bio engineered to become living weapons, so he's really good at killing people."
