Showtime Premiere New Series 'Penny Dreadful' Early on YouTube and Showtime On Demand

Penny Dreadful has arrived.

The new Showtime series which doesn't air until May 11 has just premiered early on YouTube.

The official Penny Dreadful YouTube channel posted the episode with the caption:

"The doors to the demimonde have opened early. Watch the #PennyDreadful series premiere now before it airs on #Showtime on Sunday, May 11."

The series, set in 1890's London, tells the stories of gothic literally character including Dorian Gray, Frankenstein, and characters from Dracula. The stories of these iconic characters will weave together with original characters in Victorian London including Vanessa Ives (Eva Green), Sir Malcolm (Timothy Dalton), and Ethan Chandler (Josh Hartnett).

The premiere episode titled "Night Work," is available on YouTube, embedding has been disabled so click on the here to watch. Viewers can also watch on the Showtimes website, Showtime OnDemand, and the Showtime Anytime app.

Viewers who watch the new episode now won't have to wait until May 18 to watch the follow up episode, thank gosh. The episode titled "Séance," will be available on May 11 at 10 pm immediately following the cable premiere of the first episode.

Some of the commenters are already raving about the series.

One YouTuber posted, "OMG this is SCARY AWESOME :D You really feel as though you have entered the world of the Gothic novel by watching this."

Another one writes, "So amazing. There is such magnificence and truth to the pilot, you are sucked into the world and you believe that this could have happened."
