Iron Man, Captain America and Thor have each received sequel solo adventures since The Avengers in 2012, but the Hulk has not had a solo outing since The Incredible Hulk in 2009. But according to former Hulk actor Lou Ferrigno, that will soon change.

Latino-Review reports Ferrigno told a local radio station in Minnesota that Marvel is planning another solo Hulk movie. He talks about how Mark Ruffalo's version of the character was the "star of the movie" in The Avengers and believes he "saved the day."

"Now because he saved the day they're making another solo Hulk movie after the second Avengers comes out."

As always, nothing is official until Marvel Studios confirms it.

The actor spoke to Nuke The Fridge at WonderCon and confirmed he would provide the voice for the counterpart to Ruffalo's Bruce Banner. Ferrigno, who played the Hulk on TV in the late 1970s and early 1980s, has voiced the character in several animated movies, as well as The Incredible Hulk (when he said "Hulk smash!") and The Avengers (when he said "Puny god" to Loki).

Ruffalo's appearance, facial expressions, movements and other physical attributes provided the basis for the design of the Hulk in The Avengers, so director Joss Whedon could have easily decided to just alter Ruffalo's voice rather than bring in Ferrigno to speak a few lines. Instead, it seems as though Age of Ultron will provide a bit of a wink and a nod to fans who remember the television series in which Ferrigno starred alongside Bill Bixby.
