It looks like there is trouble in the Big Apple.

It appears that this season of The Real Housewives of New York could be the shows last. The show, currently in its sixth season on the air is on the chopping block due to a decline in the ratings. The show was the second addition to the Housewives franchise following The Real Housewives of Orange County.

There has been plenty of drama on this season from fights about ghost writers (#bookgate) to fights involving champagne throwing, but it seems that viewers are just not interested.

The series peaked during its third and fourth seasons often drawing number around the 2 million mark, compared to this season where viewers have rarely gone above the 1.3 million mark. The fifth episode of the season marked a series low with a rating of 1.2 million viewers.

While the newest episode titled "Unforgivable Debt," had the highest rating yet this season of 1.46 million viewers it was down viewers in the coveted 18-49 demographic showing a decrease by -8.39 percent a total of 64,000 viewers.

A source tells RadarOnline that Bravo executives are not happy with these recent numbers and that a magnifying glass will be on the ratings for the rest of the episodes this season. "Bravo executives are watching the numbers closely and they are definitely considering getting rid of the New York franchise."

The source also goes on to tell the website that "the ladies just aren't connecting with viewers and they need something major to happen to them."

While major things have happened in the ladies lives, the cameras just aren't around to document it. Ramona's husband's cheating scandal was unfortunately not including in this season, something that Bravo was probably hoping would draw people into the show.

While New York sees a decline other cities in the Housewives franchise have been improving on their ratings. The Real Housewives of Atlanta currently wrapping up its sixth season and had the best ratings ever for the series.

So why aren't people interested in the New York housewives anymore? Sound off in the comment section.
