LA Clippers owner Donald Sterling has recently been involved in a huge legal battle, with tons of hatred sent his way. He had been caught on tape making racist remarks and has ordered to sell his beloved team. But today it was revealed through multiple reports that the owner has cancer. This new announcement has shocked the NBA and the world, adding a new twist to an already tough situation.

Clippers coach Doc Rivers said, "I hope it's not true," whilst star player Blake Griffin stated: "If that is true, my thoughts and prayers are with him. Nobody deserves to go through something like that."

The 80-year-old has owned the Clippers for 33 years and has yet to respond to this case, but these new cancer reports have helped him receive some sympathy.

The National Basketball Players Association (NBPA) believes he must be removed, stating: "We want maximum allowable punishment under the bylaws and constitution and what that equates to for us as players, there must be a change in ownership. As players, we're very happy with the decision, but we're not content yet."

It seems like this situation is getting messier and messier, but everybody is seemingly of two beliefs. They hope Sterling is not ill or at least recovers, but they still do not want to work under his ownership.

Is there any way he can keep his team? Can the Clippers players and organization put this mess behind them to go on to win an NBA championship? There's never a dull day in LA.
