Stars may be out celebrating Cinco De Mayo today but it looks like country singer Leann Rimes has turned her eyes to another May holiday.

The singer took to her Twitter today to post an article about Mother's Day that the Huffington Post original posted. The title being "Mother's Day vs. Stepmother's Day: Who Owns It?"

Rimes, is the stepmother to Real Housewives star Brandi Glanville and Eddie Cibrian's two sons, and it seems she wants people to acknowledge that while she didn't birth the children, that she is still their mother. Rimes couldn't have been more subtle in the tweet... not. She might as well have tagged Brandi in the post while she was at it.

The Huffington Post article, which plays out like Rimes and Glanville's relationship, talks about the battle that exists between stepmother and divorced mother. The stepmothers, often perform the typical duties of the mother is never really getting the recognition for it, and the divorced mother feels that her territory is being encroached upon by the stepmother. The article goes on to give stepmoms a list of suggestions as to make the Mother's Day holiday a little bit easier such as:

"Owning your holiday- Tell you family you want to celebrate Stepmother's Day and what you like to have happen"

Also "Petition card companies- let Hallmark know they're overlooking a major segment of the population. (If nothing else, they're missing out on an awesome marketing opportunity!)

The article was first published in 2012, so it must be something that has weighed heavily on Rimes mind since, especially with the holiday approaching.

Last Mother's Day, Rimes reached out an olive branch to Glanville by sending her flowers, maybe Glanville will send her some this year, who knows?
