Fox Releases ‘Gotham’ Trailers As Batman Prequel Goes To Series! [Watch Videos]

Gotham follows detectives James Gordon (Ben McKenzie) and Harvey Bullock (Donal Logue) as they try to stop the growing crime wave in the gritty city. Batman fans should rejoice as Fox has ordered an initial series for the the police procedural drama.

The Hollywood Reporter has announced that Fox has picked up Gotham for the 2014-2015 season. Fox has ordered an initial 13 episodes before ratings and word-of-mouth before deciding if the serialized police drama will picked up for full season. Gotham joins a lineup of Fox's already hour-long dramas, which includes The Following, Sleepy Hollow, and 24: Live Another Day.

The comic book world seems to be growing on the small screen. Because of the lukewarm ratings for Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., DC Comics is already been doing a better job with their comic book TV shows, such as the Flash spinoff and Arrow, than Marvel Comics. It remains to be seen though where audiences will watch a Batman TV show without the Caped Crusader.

A badly beaten and bleeding Penguin (played by Robin Lord Taylor) tells McKenzie's Gordon, "There is a war coming. A terrible war..."

It will take a single crime that will stir the city and shake things up as Penguin promises, "There will be chaos...rivers of blood on the streets. I know it."
