Tim McGraw On Running For Governor: 'That Was Back In My Drinking Days'

In case you didn't know - Tim McGraw has entertained the idea of running for governor or U.S. Senator in Tennessee in 2006.  The country superstar recently told the Minneapolis Star Tribune that he his thoughts were not so clear then.

He said, "That was back in my drinking days."  Four years ago, McGraw said goodbye to drinking to be a better example for his children.  

He doesn't have any plan to launch a political career any time soon.  "Who knows? I've been very fortunate. If one of these days I'm in a position where I can give back and feel like I'm smart enough to help and not just doing it for the hell of doing it, then it would be something I'd consider. But certainly it would be after my kids are grown," he added.

McGraw is now on a very successful tour with Kenny Chesney and enjoys performing on large stages for thousands of fans.
