During his promotional tour for his latest film, Neighbors, actor Seth Rogen spoke about how he and Evan Goldberg (This Is The End) will adapt the supernatural themed Preacher comic onto the TV screen. Will AMC have another hit like The Walking Dead on their hands? Or will they end up with another stinker like Rogen's The Green Hornet?

As reported here, Rogen and Goldberg are adapting the Preacher series for AMC. From Vertigo Comics, an imprint of DC Comics, Preacher follows Jesse Custer, a man of the cloth, who loses his faith after being possessed by a supernatural creature named Genesis. A hybrid of angel and demon, Genesis takes control of Preacher, causing him to unwillingly kill his entire congregation and flatten his church. With newfound powers, Custer journeys across the U.S., with his ex-lover Tulip O'Hare and the hard-drinking Irish vampire Cassidy, to literally find God.

In an interview with Slash Film, Rogen talks a bit about his comic book adaptation of Preacher, "Me and Evan are writing it right now with the help of Sam Caitlin and we've come up with a lot of incredibly crazy idead. [Laughs] It's a fun thing to riff on and talk about. We're definitely trying to expand on some of the ideas in the comic and make it that...we love most of the main cornerstones of the comic, but we're trying to make it that even if you've read the comic you should not know exactly what to expect from the TV show."

How much of the comic by writer Garth Ennis and artist Steve Dillion will make its way to the TV screen? Can Rogen and Goldberg keep such mature-themed characters such as Arse-Face, Pube, and The Chunt Brothers? Or are these two going to chicken out and give us a wussy-version of Preacher?

Neighbors, starring Seth Rogen, Rose Byrne, and Zac Efron, hits theaters May 9. How much of Preacher TV series will deviate from the comics in the hands of Rogen? We'll just have to wait and see.
