First 'Maleficent' Clip Released, Watch Angelina Jolie Show Up To Sleeping Beauty's Birthday Party In This 'Awkward' Clip

The first official clip has just been released for new film Maleficent and we are freaking out!!! Can it just please be May 30th already?

The clip shows "The Mistress of All Evil" making her iconic appearance at the celebration for Princess Aurora's birth; an event that she sadly was not invited too, leading to quite the "awkward situation."

Angelina Jolie is simply perfection in her portrayal of Maleficent, from her mannerisms all the way down to her evil laugh, which sends chills down our spines.

The script sticks so closely to the original which makes uber-fans like us ecstatic. Even featuring the signature line, "Royalty, Nobility, the gentry and... how quant, even the rebel. I was quite distressed at not receiving an invitation." Maleficent's quote is answered by King Stefan reply, saying "You're not welcome here."

"Oh dear, what an awkward situation."

In a featurette for the movie Jolie says that the team behind Maleficent has respected the original film, knowing that it has such a strong and loyal fan base.

"We've respected the classic, we've tried to bring you what you love about this story. We also hope to bring you a world you've never seen before. It's a very beautiful story and I think it's very different from what people are going to expect."
