Two new stills, starring Chris Pratt as Star-Lord, have just been released for the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy. Let's find out what the meaning behind Star-Lord's mask with glowing round red eyes.

Marvel just released two new stills from their upcoming summer blockbuster. Viewers can see Peter Quill (Chris Pratt), also known as the wanted fugitive Star-Lord, donning a mask-like helmet. What does the mask mean and why is it so important for Star-Lord?

In the Marvel Universe, Star-Lord is originally from Earth and went off to outer-space to get back at his father for abandoning him. Because he is an Earth-ling, there are some planets where the air is unbreathable. Star-Lord would need a breathable mask as he goes around from planet to planet.

From Guardians of the Galaxy's official Twitter, check out Star-Lord with his mask on:

Did you notice how Star-Lord has a space-gun for each hand? This looks like he is about to get into shoot-out with some nasty aliens. Marvel is teasing us the sci-fi action coming up.
