Fans of American Horror Story likely know that Season 4 of the series will be subtitled Freak Show and will take place at a carnival in Florida in the 1950s. Now, series creator Ryan Murphy has revealed some new details about the upcoming season.

Jessica Lange will play a German woman who runs the carnival. Murphy spoke to EW.com and revealed some new information about Season 4.

"It was always a concept that Jessica and I talked about really early on," Murphy said. "It was always her favorite one, which I thought was funny. I've had many different versions that I've run by her. I just love it. It feels really right. I thought it was going to be light but it's turning out to be quite terrifyingly dark, which it feels much more like the Asylum season. But look - if you have a character named the Clown Killer, it's going to be dark."

Clown Killer? So Freak Show will feature a homicidal clown?

"Yes," Murphy confirmed. "The most terrifying clown ever!" He also added the show will feature "our version" of the Bearded Lady.

In related news, Angela Bassett recently spoke to the "Spoiler Chat" column at E! Online to fill in some of the details:

Harrison: So excited for AHS: Freak Show! Any info you can spill on the new season?

Well, we know that Jessica Lange plays the manager of one of the U.S.' last remaining freak shows in Jupiter, Fla., who has 'rescued all these different individuals. It's the end of that era, of the freak show, and we'll do anything to keep our business going,' Angela Bassett teases of season four's main plotline. So who is she playing? 'I don't know that yet,' Bassett admits with a laugh. 'I don't know if I'll be a Siamese twin or a bearded lady!'"
