Jesse Eisenberg will portray Lex Luthor in Zack Snyder's Man of Steel sequel known as Batman vs. Superman. We had not heard much from the actor about the part, but he did touch on the subject during a pair of recent interviews.

Firstly, Eisenberg appeared on Today and, in a humorous moments, the host calls the movie Batman vs. Spider-Man. Eisenberg does not correct her, but the look on his face shows his reaction. But much like with the Marvel Cinematic Universe actors, he does not reveal much about the part.

"It's an interesting character. The movie is really good," he says. "But yeah, if I say anything beyond that, somebody will probably descend from the ceiling."

Eisenberg also talked to The Schmoes Know Podcast and, again, did not say much. But he did say he was "very impressed with the script" and called it a great script that led to his taking the iconic role of Superman's greatest nemesis. He also revealed he would start shooting his scenes in one month.

Zack Snyder said the following about Eisenberg in an official statement from Warner Bros. when the studio made the casting announcement in January:

"Lex Luthor is often considered the most notorious of Superman's rivals, his unsavory reputation preceding him since 1940. What's great about Lex is that he exists beyond the confines of the stereotypical nefarious villain. He's a complicated and sophisticated character whose intellect, wealth and prominence position him as one of the few mortals able to challenge the incredible might of Superman. Having Jesse in the role allows us to explore that interesting dynamic, and also take the character in some new and unexpected directions."
