Peterborough United are known for developing promising, young stars, and they're also good at keeping them around for a while. Although a small club, they have an eye for Premier League-bound players. With their recent spell of success they've found it easier to keep these players around, but after last nights devastating playoff exit at the hands of Leyton Orient, could their super striker Britt Assombalonga be heading for a Premier League club?

One year ago Peterborough sold Dwight Gayle to EPL side Crystal Palace for around $10 million dollars, and he's been a huge hit there, but his replacement Britt has been a revelation for Posh, scoring 33 goals in all competitions. It's believed that Peterborough would've kept their forward if they won promotion, but now they've stayed in League One, they're facing the task of rebuilding, and even though the classy forward is wanted, Posh fans are insisting they should cash in now, so they can strengthen all round.

Assombalonga was recently voted the 12th best player outside of the EPL in popular British magazine 'FourFourTwo', so there will be no shortage of suitors should be be made available. This week will see a host of decisions revealed surrounding the future of Posh, and perhaps Britt's future could be on the agenda also.

Could clubs like Hull City, Burnley, Newcastle and Fulham be queuing up for Britt Assombalonga? His former club Watford have the first option, too, so perhaps a return to old grounds is on the cards for the flashy forward.
