#HeroCat VIRAL VIDEO: feline 'Tara' saves young boy from shocking dog attack, #TeamKitty trends on Twitter while vicious pup gets euthanized [WATCH]

Just last week, "Shovel Fight Girl" became YouTube's latest viral sensation. But now? Introducing - #HeroCat.

The shocking surveillance footage first went viral on TMZ and CCTV. A young boy (four-year-old Jeremy) is innocently riding his bike in Bakersfield, CA on Tuesday (May 13) when he gets viciously attacked by an unleashed neighborhood dog.

According to the infamous gossip webloid, "You can see the boy riding his bike in front of the home when the dog comes around from behind an SUV and drags the boy off his tricycle by his leg."

After pinning him down onto the ground, the agitated canine starts ripping apart the boy's leg. That's when Hero Cat (a beloved family pet named Tara) enters the shocking scene.

Out of nowhere, this heroic feline POUNCES on the mutt, scaring the crap out of him. The dog runs away with the kitty close behind while someone quickly attends to the child.

Pretty awesome rescue.

The boy's parents confirm that he just needed a few stiches - readers can check out photos of the brutal injuries here.

After an investigation, the young pup (a rather unfriendly Labrador-Chow mix) was captured by animal control. He remained in an "extremely aggressive state," and professionals made the ultimate decision to euthanize the animal.
