Season 4 of HBO's Game of Thrones is in full swing and fans are eagerly anticipating the next shocking development in Westeros each week. Last week's episode ended with Tyrion's trial, and the dwarf threw a twist into the proceedings when he demanded a trial by combat.

Now, HBO has released the descriptions for the final three episodes of Season 4. They don't reveal much, but they do give some indications of where the show is headed as the season winds to a close.

Season 4 Episode 8: "The Mountain and the Viper"
SUNDAY, JUNE 1 (9:00-10:00 p.m. ET/PT)

Unexpected visitors arrive in Mole's Town; Littlefinger's motives are questioned; Ramsay tries to prove himself to his father; Tyrion's fate is decided.

Season 4 Episode 9: "The Watchers on the Wall"
SUNDAY, JUNE 8 (9:00-10:00 p.m. ET/PT)

Jon Snow and the Night's Watch face a big challenge.

Season 4 Episode 10: "The Children"

SUNDAY, JUNE 15 (9:00-10:00 p.m. ET/PT)

Circumstances change after an unexpected arrival from north of the Wall; Dany must face harsh realities; Bran learns more about his destiny; Tyrion sees the truth about his situation.

The penultimate episode of each season is usually the one that has everyone buzzing from major twists and deaths. Ned Stark was killed in Season 1, the Battle of Blackwater took place in Season 2 and the Red Wedding occurred in Season 3. "The Watchers on the Wall" could be a pivotal episode for the series.
