Andrew Garfield has portrayed Peter Parker/Spider-Man in The Amazing Spider-Man and The Amazing Spider-Man 2 and is set to play the iconic superhero again in the third film in 2016. Reports indicated that would be all for the young British actor, but a new rumor reveals he could continue to suit up in the red and blue.

The Daily Star reports Garfield has been offered a multi-million dollar deal to play Spider-Man until 2020.

"Andrew is already contracted to make two more films for release in 2015 and 2016," the site reports through a senior source at Columbia Pictures. The interesting note here is that there is no Amazing Spider-Man film planned for 2015, though Garfield could make a cameo as Spidey in another movie.

"We are looking to tie him to the role for as many as a further four pictures given the huge success the franchise is enjoying...The part is pretty much his for as long as he chooses," the source continues.

Finally, the report states Garfield has even been offered a deal to share the box office profits for future films.

In other news, Screen Rant spoke to Garfield and director Marc Webb and asked the actor what would be the next step in the evolution of Peter Parker for The Amazing Spider-Man 3.

"I don't know. I don't want to talk about how the film ends, I don't want to talk about - I don't want anyone who hasn't seen it to have any preconceived notion of what happens, but there's a big thing that Peter has to deal with and you have to give it fair credence. You have to really honor the truth of what it will take for a human being to keep going. Could there be a girl in some of this?..."

Screen Rant then asked if it is a girl in spandex, aka the Black Cat, and Webb just replied, "Hmmmm..." with a laugh.

What do you think, Spidey fans? Will Garfield really portray the character until 2020? Would you like that to happen? Let us know in the comments below.
