You might've thought that you would be playing the highly anticipated video game The Division, based on the Tom Clancy book series, next year but new rumors are claiming you'll have to wait until 2016!

According to European video game news website Gamereactor, an unnamed source says 2015 is ambitious for a release date.

"The Division is without a doubt one of the most ambitious game projects of all time and our publisher has naturally realized this. We've been given increased resources, we're hiring lots at the moment and are given a lot of help from other Ubisoft teams which is going to be needed if we are to deliver a finished game by next fall," the insider said. "Sadly I still think that the date is a tad bit optimistic as we still don't have a functioning game and still have massive problems making our multiplayer component work at the concept stage. At the same time both we and our publisher are incredibly happy with our game engine and Ubisoft will naturally make use of it in lots of upcoming titles."

Here is a synopsis of the recently delayed video game, according to rumors:

A devastating pandemic sweeps through New York City, and one by one, basic services fail. In only days, without food or water, society collapses into chaos. The Division, a classified unit of self-supported tactical agents, is activated. Leading seemingly ordinary lives among us, The Division agents are trained to operate independently of command, as all else fails. Fighting to prevent the fall of society, the agents will find themselves caught up in an epic conspiracy, forced to combat not only the effects of a manmade virus, but also the rising threat of those behind it. When everything collapses, your mission begins.
