Speaking to George Stephanopoulos on Good Morning America while promoting her new film Maleficent, Hollywood superstar Angelina Jolie mentioned she'd be interested in running for office. There is a catch though: she'd only get into politics if she believes she'd end up being effective!

"You know, if I thought I'd be effective, I would," she explained in the interview. "But I'm not sure if I would ever be taken seriously in that way, and be able to be effective."

We're sure her fans think she'd end up being effective, after all she has raised awareness around the world for numerous charities and issues throughout her time in the limelight.

For instance, in 2001 Jolie was named a United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees Goodwill Ambassador and then ten years later the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (António Guterres) presented her with a gold pin reserved for the most long-serving staff of her decade of work.

Also, the Mr. and Mrs. Smith starlet created Asia's first Millennium Village in Cambodia in 2006, aiming to address the problems of poverty, health, gender equality, and disease. Angelina has also co-chaired the Clinton Global Initiative's Education Partnership for Children of Conflict since 2007.

Another aspect of politics that Jolie worries about is the secrets that could be uncovered. Though she realizes that, as a celebrity, her secrets are probably out in the open already.

"I wonder if by now if my skeletons are out," she said. "They're probably all out."
