One of fans' many problems with 2009's X-Men Origins: Wolverine was the portrayal of Deadpool (Ryan Reynolds). The wisecracking character literally had his mouth sewn shut and he was turned into a silent killer. There have been rumors of a Deadpool movie for years, and Wolverine himself, Hugh Jackman, wants to see it happen.

"We sort of took a pretty strong choice on Deadpool, where we kind of stitched him up," Jackman told IGN. "And I love the character of Deadpool and I think that the sort of badass, fast-talking, funny, annoying Deadpool vs. Wolverine would still be cool. We've sort of done it, but I think we could have done that much better."

This is another recent comment from Jackman that indicates his renewed enthusiasm for the X-Men film series. Speculation has abounded for quite a while that he might leave the franchise after the third solo Wolverine movie in 2017 (he could also appear in X-Men: Apocalypse in 2016). Jackman himself had even commented that he has been looking beyond Wolverine and when he might be done with the character.

But in an interview with IGN, the actor changed his tune somewhat and revealed that Days of Future Past reinvigorated the franchise for him:

"At one point, you're right, I said I was pretty sure (about leaving the role). But I'm less sure as it goes along. Because after seeing this movie, the whole thing feels fresher to me than ever. And during this movie...I don't want to spoil anything, but it's kind of like a clean slate, so who knows where it's going to go. As long as I have the passion for it, and the fans will have me."
