Author Jonathan Maberry captured a world on the brink of self-destruction with savage murders and vampire terrorist cells. Now IDW Entertainment and Entertainment One (eOne) Television will bring the apocalyptic horror series, V-Wars, to your television screen.

In V-Wars, the entire world has been thrust into a catastrophic environment. A millennial-old virus has been triggered on humanity. The infection affects individuals differently, depending on their DNA. In the Vampire War, the bloodsuckers have been let loose, creating a response from unaffected humans like never seen before.

Known for his work on Dexter and Smallville, Tim Schlattman has been tapped to write the pilot. On board as executive producer, Schlattman discusses the themes of us vs. them, "This is a story that takes everything the audience thinks they know about vampires and throws it out the window. They're not the undead. They're us."

Maberry explains the message behind his writing, "V-Wars is a head-on collision of real-world science, terrorism, special forces action, ethics, politics and an exploration of what defines us as human."

"Tim [Schlattman] brings an incredible vision for V-Wars," states IDW Entertainment President David Ozer. "The series sets an exciting tone for our first project launched with Entertainment One and will resonate throughout the global television market."

John Morayniss, Chief Executive Officer at eOne Television, mentions, "V-Wars is the perfect project to kick off our partnership with IDW Entertainment, and lays the groundwork for a slate of ambitious projects to come. We are thrilled to have attracted such a huge talent as Tim to bring this gritty post-apocalyptic world to life."

After making its debut as a collection of prose stories, the second volume of Jonathan Maberry's V-Wars will be released sometime in July. Catch up on Maberry and artists Alan Robinson's ongoing V-Wars comic book series from IDW Publishing here.
