Jurgen Klinsmann Surprises Everyone, Including Own Son With Landon Donovan's US World Cup Squad Omission

Jurgen Klinsmann shocked the world yesterday when he announced that the U.S. men's national soccer team would no longer have a place for superstar Landon Donovan. Fans, critics and many others explained their shock, as did Jurgen's son. Jonathan Klinsmann, a 17-year-old soccer prospect, tweeted his shock, but it seems his father wasn't impressed.

Jurgen explained his views on the tweet and the entire situation, saying he's "Hugely disappointed," He continued "I called him right away, he realized just a few minutes after that what he has done. He came out of school kind of fooling around with his classmates, and they just went off on Twitter not being aware of that he's actually followed on Twitter."

Why was his son shocked at the surprise omission? Jurgen explained, saying "He has a huge admiration for Landon. He's actually a big fan of his since many many years, he has his jersey in his room and he realized what he's done. He was devastated yesterday. Obviously as a father you put him in line, and he owes him a huge, huge apology. That was highly disrespectful, and I think he got his biggest social media lesson he could imagine. It was very disappointing."

Will Jurgen soon share his son's views, and end up regretting not taking Landon Donovan to the 2014 World Cup? Perhaps he wants to give a chance to players that will be around at the time of the next World Cup, but the way this situation occurred, just wasn't right, and that's shown with his son's shock with regards to it all.
