IDW Publishing will release a multi-disc DVD set of the comic masterpiece from writer/artist Dave Sim. In a unique multi-media format, comic book fans will take part in a special reading simulation of Cerebus: High Society Digital Audio/Visual Experience.

Widely considered a perfect-starting point for first time readers, High Society follows Cerebus, the talking and chain-smoking Aardvark, as he campaigns for Prime Minister in the fictional world of Estaricon. A vehicle for political satire, Cerebus becomes caught up in election schemes and campaign funding debts. An assassination attempt is plotted against the political candidate as election night looms ahead. Starting with issue #26, right until the 50th installment, Sim will be reading in character as his own creation, Cerebus.

More than just an audio book, Sim's reading will be complete with accompanying music and sound effects. Motion effects will also be applied to the story and black & white artwork. Fans will be given a virtual guided tour as each installment comes with a section full of Sim's editorial comments.

The self-publishing comic pioneer Sim is ecstatic about this re-release, "With the restoration of the High Society graphic novel now dragging onto its third year - and no end in sight - it's Justin Eisinger and IDW to the rescue with Cerebus: High Society Digital Audio/Visual Experience DVD set! Thanks guys!"

Eisinger, IDW's Senior Editor Books, continues, "Cerebus means so many things to so many readers. It really is a monumental work of our times. Having the opportunity to work with Dave and his team to bring this High Society set to life - and in this form - is a special experience that we'll never forget. The creator performing the story?! It's a hell of a thing."

Cerebus: High Society Digital Audio/Visual Experience will be available sometime this August. Readers will be presented with the comic book masterpiece like never before; so don't miss out.
