In sad news, the world's fattest man has passed away on Monday at the age of 48.

The Guinness Book Of World Record holder for heaviest man, Manuel Uribe passed away from unknown complications this past holiday weekend.

The Mexican resident was in the process of slimming down from his record-breaking weight of 1,230 pounds, and had achieved a weight of 867 pounds at the time of his passing. The Nuevo Leon state health department confirmed Uribe's death.

Before his death, Manuel had a very poor quality of life. He had been confined to his bed for year after losing the ability to walk. Earlier this month, Uribe, complained of an abnormal heartbeat and needed to be taken to the hospital, however, due to his size, he was transported by a crane, which is reserved for emergency civil defense workers.

No news yet on whether or not this heart defect lead to Manuel's ultimate death, but it was also speculated that the record breaker suffered from liver issues.

Despite his size, Uribe did manage to leave the house back in 2008 to attend his own wedding to Claudia Solis, this however was one of only a handful of times that he would leave his house between 2002 and 2014. In 2002, he became bedridden and had to rely on the help of his mother, and wife, as well as his friends, to feed him and clean him.

Yahoo claims that Manuel was also a chubby kid, an weighted 250 pounds by the time that he was an adolescent. His weight really became a problem for him in 1992 when he began packing on the pounds.
