In a may or may not be true report, an unknown artist is already being considered for the lead in Marvel's Daredevil upcoming series on Netflix. Actor Charlie Cox has allegedly been approached by Marvel to play the popular superhero role.
According to Latino-Review, the English actor is being considered for the lead role. The Boardwalk Empire actor is in talks to play the blind lawyer/masked vigilante. Though this is just speculation, wouldn't it be awesome to see hit-man Owen Sleater as the death-defying Daredevil?
Should we as readers take this breaking news seriously though? In his report, Umberto Gonzalez states, "Now this is unconfirmed at the moment, hence the rumor status, but I trust the sources enough to publish."
According to Comic Book Resources, Marvel has declined to comment on whether the Stardust actor is officially being considered. If this was just rumor, then why the secrecy? Wouldn't the studio just say, "We are in talks right now with a list of actors in consideration?"
As reported here, Cloverfield screenwriter Drew Goddard has been replaced as showrunner by Steven DeKnight (Spartacus). Goddard has already written two episodes and will still executive produce, while working on the Sinister Six spinoff. With DeKnight officially taking charge, does that mean he already has an actor, particularly Cox, in mind?
