44FLOOD Artist Ben Templesmith Returns to IDW Publishing With Horror/Sci-Fi Series “The Squidder!’

IDW Publishing and 44FLOOD team-up to release an all-new exciting four-part miniseries. From the popular 30 Days of Night artist Ben Templesmith, get ready for horror, sci-fi, and some "Squidly" destruction in The Squidder.

The Squidder revolves around an old solider, one of the last of the Squidder Legions, from a forgotten war.  The post-apocalyptic world seems to have left the fighter behind. It remains to be seen if a discarded relic with a death wish and the rebellious Squid can overthrow the tentacle alien overlords and save the last remaining bit of humanity.

Chris Ryall, IDW's Chief Creative Officer/Editor-in-Chief, discusses his relationship with the successful illustrator, "Ben [Templesmith] was there at the start of IDW's first comic publishing, so it's great that hi return with The Squidder coincides with our 15^th anniversary." Ryall continues, "Although, don't get me wrong, a new series from Ben is welcome at any time. And thanks to our partnership with Ben's new venture, 44FLOOD, this just may become a very nice regular occurrence."

Templesmith explains what makes his comic a thrilling read, "The Squidder is equal parts Mad Max, Cthulhu creatures, and everything I love about early '90s Dolph Lungren action films. All of us at 44FLOOD are excited to be working with IDW to bring our projects into comic book shops and book stores. IDW has some of the best and most dedicated people in all of comics."

The Squidder will be available in stores this July. Proving to be more than a triple threat, artist Ben Templesmith will write, draw, and letter each issue, as well as illustrate the primary covers for this series.
