Cartoon Network has teamed-up with IDW Publishing to launch their first crossover event featuring characters from their popular animated TV shows. Writer Louise Simonson and artist Derek Charm bring together the heroes and villains of  Powerpuff Girls, Ben 10, Samurai Jack, Dexter's Laboratory, and Ed, Edd, and Eddy for their six-issue miniseries, Super Secret Crisis War.

Before there was Adventure Time and Regular Show, Bubbles, Blossom, and Buttercup were saving Townsville from Mojo Jojo, who wouldn't stop repeating his name in a single sentence. Remember when Samurai Jack joined The Scotsman in rescuing his big-as-a-mountain wife from a demon? Now imagine if there was dimensional rift that pulled all these popular characters for one cosmic comic book event.

On the villains' side, Mandark, Gilgax, Mojo Jojo, and Aku have all teamed-up to threaten the universe. Pulled into a dimensional pocket, Samurai Jack finds himself stranded along with the Powerpuff Girls, Ben 10, boy scientist Dexter, Ben 10, and Ed, Edd, and Eddy. The heroes have to work together and find their way home to stop them.

In an interview with Comic Book Resources, Simonson discusses why Aku is her favorite baddie, "It seemed to me that Aku is the most powerful because he's got magic as well as science stuff that he can do. Besides, I really like Aku. He cracks me up. He'll talk like a super villain for a while and then he throws in this little dollop of self-knowledge"

Though the sword-swinging time traveler travels solo in adventures, the X-Factor writer explains why he would be considered the leader, "Jack's the oldest and certainly because of that they listen to him. But you've got a lot of pretty independent thinkers. Ben 10 is pretty much used to doing things on his own. The Powerpuff Girls are extremely powerful and have their own ideas on how to do things. They're not always functioning as a team. We do split them up to go off on their own adventures."

Super Secret Crisis War is expected to hits stores this June. Readers, which of the Cartoon Network shows are you most excited to see return?
