It's been three years since 50 Cent released an official album, but on Monday morning he changed that, and did so in style. His latest album, titled 'Animal Ambition', hit the shelves in Europe today, and the USA will see the album in their local stores on Tuesday 3rd June. After achieving so much in the rap game, does 50 Cent still carry the. 'Animal Ambition' he had when he first burst on to the scene?

The album doesn't waste time on introductions and skits, and after hitting play for the first time , the listener will soon realize 50 means serious business. Track No. 1 is 'Don't Worry 'Bout It' and for the opening song there couldn't of been a better track. Quite possibly the biggest song off of the album sets the vibe nicely, but it also quickly reassures his fans that this is the hungry, ambitious and animal-like rapper of old, and not the lazy one we'd seen more recently.

50 neither goes for the hardcore, street-rap approach or the club-friendly bangers, but instead he finds a balance, that should please both sets of his fans. Rather than place an emphasis on a track overload, he sticks to 11 top songs, which ensure that hip hop songs can listen to every track back-to-back without skipping a single track.

50's track 'Pilot' shows his new level of confidence and he has a faster flow than in previous years, showing he's modernizing his rap ability. One of the best songs is 'Smoke' which features R&B superstar Trey Songz. The song has hard-hitting verses, with a catchy, memorable hook.

Whilst this isn't 50 Cent's best album, it's definitely worth every cent of its near $10 price tag. In 2-3 years 50 Cent may look back to this album as the one that put him back on the map as his close friend, Eminem, does with his album 'Recovery'.

Quite simply, 'Animal Ambition' is a must have album.
