'The Hunger Games' Theme Park?- Lionsgate Moving Forward In Creating An Amusement Park Based On The Films

Ever wanted to be a part of The Hunger Games, well you might just get your wish.

The Hollywood Reporter announced today that Lionsgate is looking at expanding their highly successful film franchise into new lines of business that would include a traveling exhibit as well as a theme park.

The studio has already enlisted the help of Thinkwell Group, a company that focuses on creating theme parks, to help them further extent the branding of The Hunger Games.

The first step in the process will be to create an exhibition that will include all things Hunger Games related. The traveling exhibition is going to be showcased in museums and institutions around the United States this summer

"As a first step, we've already designed a state-of-the-art traveling museum involving costumes, props and other elements of the Hunger Games world that will begin touring the U.S. next summer," Lionsgate CEO Jon Feltheimer revealed in a press conference early this year.

It seems only smart to capitalize off of the success of the films by creating entertainment-based opportunities for the franchise.

These films are just the latest features to be getting the theme park treatment. THR also reported that Life of Pi, Alien, and Ice Age will be featured in a 20th Century Fox theme park planned to open in 2016 in Malaysia.

The third film in The Hunger Games series Mockingjay: Part 1 will be released this November, but for all of you fans that can't wait until then, check out the exhibition when it comes to a city near you.
