Marvel's intergalactic gang of misfits have just been turned into little plastic figures made of bricks. Before they show up on movie screens everywhere, get ready for LEGO's toy-bricked version of Guardians of the Galaxy.

C-Net got the scoop on the Marvel licensed theme from LEGO. The three playsets are titled as "Starblaster Showdown," "Knowhere Escape Mission," and "Milano Spaceship Rescue." Each set piece appears to be a recreation of a major scene from the highly anticipated movie.

From their official website, LEGO writes in a side caption, "Help Star-Lord fend off Ronan in 'The Milano Spaceship Rescue LEGO Super Heroes' set using the Hadron Enforcer against Ronan's Cosmi-Rod."

I haven't seen the upcoming space opera but someone at the Lego Group must have. Somebody at Marvel had to provide the concept art behind the Milano Spaceship. Look at the craftsmanship and the level of detail to the brick-building. The coloring of the mini-figurines is on the spot when you compare to their live-action models.

In the trailer, we have seen teasers of an epic cosmic battle, with flying spaceships shooting at each other and tons explosions going off everywhere. So could this playset be a recreation of the action-packed final act in the sci-fi flick? This is just a complete guess on my part, but with all the information gathered here, I'm guessing Star-Lord (Chris Pratt) and Ronan (Lee Pace) duke it out for the fate of all mankind.

As reported here, we know Josh Brolin will playing the voice of the major super villain Thanos. If they have turned Karen Gillan's character, Nebula into a LEGO piece, then you can guess this big baddie isn't too far behind.

Check out the trailer to Guardians of the Galaxy:

LEGO has released three playsets for The Guardians of the Galaxy, which are all available here. The sci-fi/action flick starring Karen Gillan and Josh Brolin will hit theaters on August 1.
