'The Giver' Trailer - Movie Starring Meryl Streep, Taylor Swift, And Katie Holmes Gets A New Trailer [WATCH]

Today we become the giver and present you with the new trailer for the film The Giver, see what we did there, which will hit theaters this summer.

The film, which is based on the Lois Lowry novel of the same name, stars Taylor Swift, Katie Holmes, Meryl Streep, Alexander Skarsgard, and Brenton Thwaites just to name a few. The new trailer, which was just released today, gives us an even deeper look inside the world of The Giver than ever before. We learn more about how the civilization that these characters live in operates, including daily injections that make them emotionless.

The world of The Giver is set in a futuristic utopic world where no conflict exists; no drama is present, and none of the residence can remember a world where racism, or sickness occurred. The story focuses on Jonas (Brenton Thwaites), a 12-year-old boy who is chosen to be a "Receiver of Memory" a huge responsibility in this society. As his lessons in memories progress, Jonas begins to see the hardships that existed in the civilizations that came before his.

The first minute of the trailer pays homage to the book, which is set in black and white, with the only color being seen during Jonas memories lessons. From the trailer we know now that the film will start out in black and white and then transfer into color as soon as Jonas begins his giver lessons.
