Ahead of the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, many of the participating teams decided to stop in America for some additional preparation and a friendly match or two. Today, England and Ecuador had a friendly match in the Miami Dolphins' stadium. The heat and atmosphere were two reasons the two teams wanted to play here. It didn't seem to harm either team, as they both played attacking, end-to-end stuff, with a 2-2 draw the final, and perhaps the fairest result.

England started brilliantly, but were taken aback by Ecuador's 8th minute header, largely down to the fault of England's defense. Roy Hodgson made 10 changes to the England team that beat Peru on Friday, and this young, inexperienced team did themselves no harm at all. A Wayne Rooney goal tied the game, with Liverpool's new signing, Rickie Lambert, firing England in front, but Ecuador pegged England back, and the game fizzled out, leaving both with the mediocrity of a 2-2 draw.

Although the World Cup has not started, it appears they're just as competitve, as a clash between Raheem Sterling (Liverpool) and Antonio Valencia (Manchester United) proved. The pair were both sent off, meaning both teams finished the game with 10 men. The pair will not miss any World Cup games.
