A tale as old as time is about to become new again.

Disney just announced that they are in the process of retelling one of the most beloved animated films of all time, Beauty and the Beast. The film has enlisted director, Bill Condon of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Down, to oversee the fairy tale adaptation.

As of right now, there have yet to be any cast announcements as to who will take on the roles of Belle and the Beast in the film, but we already have our top choices in mind for who we want to play one of our favorite princesses.

Anna Kendrick

This actress has perfect pitch and the perfect look to match for the Disney Princess. Not to mention, she will be starring in three musicals in the coming years as well as playing Princess Cinderella in the adaptation of Into The Woods.

Emma Watson

It was rumored, that this Harry Potter beauty would be playing Belle in a retelling of the tale, but plans for that film fell through. She is definitely our top choice for the lead role, but don't tell anyone else on the list.

Demi Lovato

The "Neon Lights" singer is so versatile that she can morph into any role. On top of that, she already has been featured on a Disney movie soundtrack (Frozen), so she has a one up on everyone else on our list.

Lucy Hale

This Pretty Little Liars star would bring just the right amount of pretty to the role, not to mention she dealt with villain "A" for four seasons now, she we think she would know exactly how to take on the beast.

Alexis Bledel

Rearrange the letters in her last name and you come up with the name Belle, after you drop the D, but still. We definitely think this Gilmore Girl beauty would do our princess justice.

Lea Michele

This brunette beauty might not be our first choice for the lead role but we can't deny that she's got talent. If it's a musical, there is no other voice we'd want to hear singing "Bonjour" besides this Broadway veteran.

Lily Collins

While she has already taken on a role of a Disney princess, Snow White in Mirror Mirror, we can't help but think Collin's looks more like the "belle of the ball" then a girl who's "white as snow."

Natalie Portman

While she might be a little bit old to take on the role of a teenage girl, we think that had this movie been made a few years ago, this Black Swan beauty would have been at the top of our list.

The animated Beauty and the Beast, was released in 1991 and earned over $375 million dollars worldwide. It also nabbed a Best Picture nomination at the Academy Awards that same year, a feat that only a selection few animated movies have achieved.

There have been many different revivals and retelling of this classic tale, including a Broadway musical, and most recently the film Beastly starring Vanessa Hudgens and Alex Pettyfer.

With the success of Maleficent, it's no surprise that Disney would want to cash in and create more live-action adaptations based on their most beloved animated films.

Also in the pipeline for the movie studio are two other live-action films based on classic tales Cinderella, and The Jungle Book. The first of these two films will star Cate Blanchett taking on the role of villainous Lady Tremaine, and Lily James as the titular character, Cinderella. The Jungle Book will star Scarlett Johansson as Kaa, and Idris Elba as Shere Khan. Both movies are slated for release in 2015, Cinderella in March, and The Jungle Book in October.
