The Miami Heat have a legitimate chance to achieve a 3-peat, but yet again, the San Antonio Spurs are standing in their way. The NBA Finals start tonight. Forgotten how they got here, or not sure after the months of endless action? Take a look below for their road the to the NBA Finals:

Matchup: West's No. 1 San Antonio Spurs (62-20) vs. East's No. 2 Miami Heat (54-28)

Season series: Split 1-1

Playoff road: Spurs beat Mavs 4-3, Blazers 4-1, Thunder 4-2; Heat beat Bobcats 4-0, Nets 4-1, Pacers 4-2

Ever since Tim Duncan's Spurs beat LeBron James' Cleveland Cavaliers, there has been a blossoming rivalry between the Spurs and LeBron himself. Last season he got his revenge, winning his second straight NBA title, and beating the Spurs in the process, and this year he can add yet more misery to the team that once stripped him of glory.

Are Duncan's men scared? Apparently not. He explained "We're happy that it's the Heat again. We'll do it this time." Duncan's Spurs have gone deep in to the NBA playoffs most seasons, so the star would evidently like to add another title to go alongside their many playoff appearances.

With LeBron James and Chris Bosh able to opt out of their contracts and enter free agency this summer, could this be the last of the triumphant Miami Heat that the NBA see? Find out, starting tonight, in game 1 of the seven-game series. The Spurs and Heat have had up and down seasons, but both will be raring to go now the finals are finally here.
