The Avengers: Age of Ultron is scheduled for release on May 1, 2015, and production is well underway on the highly anticipated superhero sequel. In fact, the cast and crew are about halfway there!

Writer/director Joss Whedon tweeted Sunday that the film was halfway through shooting and that he thinks he's "holding up better than usual." He included a funny picture of a young man on "Day One" and an old man on "Day Whatever" with the hashtag #yoga.

In related news, Mark Ruffalo told Total Film that Bruce Banner/The Hulk would have more to do in Whedon's sequel:

"[My role's] even bigger than last time, and it's more complex and it has more layers and a bit more arc. Not only that, but it seems that the motion capture process is becoming a whole lot more agreeable second time around. I'm really tripping on the technology of this motion-capture stuff... now I just completely embrace it and see it as this other exciting place we can go as performers."

The actor spoke to Access Hollywood at the premiere of his new film in New York City last month and talked about his return as the Hulk, specifically with regard to the motion capture and putting the dots back on his face:

"We're in London right now, so I came in for this. It's been pretty wild. The technology is really advanced, so we can do a lot more with the Hulk performance in particular than we could last time around. So I'm really excited about the stuff we're doing right now with him and I feel like he's got some really nice nuance stuff; kind of his own little arc. The [Bruce] Banner stuff is great. Joss Whedon topped himself. It's such a greatbeautifully written script and really exciting and fun."
