Any fan of Game of Thrones has likely wondered what it would be like to live in George R.R. Martin's wonderful world of Westeros. Many characters in the show and in the A Song of Ice and Fire books meet a grisly and unnatural end, and now you can suffer the same fate for a price.

Martin is running a promotion for all Game of Thrones fans in which he will put one lucky (or unlucky) reader into one of his next A Song of Ice and Fire books and then promptly murder the character. But this chance will cost said reader $20,000.

Martin is raising money for the Wild Spirit Wolf Sanctuary and The Food Depot of Santa Fe, according to Prizeo. The author is offering other prizes, as well, including T-shirts, personalized thank you notes, a script signed by the Game of Thrones cast and a hat Martin once wore.

But the grand prize, of course, is getting into the novel.

"At this level, you'll get the incredibly exclusive opportunity to have George name a character after you in a future A Song of Ice and Fire novel. There is one male character and one female character available. You can choose your character's station in the world (lordling, knight, peasant, whore, lady, maester, septon, anything) and you will certainly meet a grisly death!"

Would you donate $20,000 for a chance to get into A Song of Ice and Fire? How do you think Martin would kill off whomever wins the contest? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
