Last night's episode of Game of Thrones had some very intense battle sequences, maybe the most hand-to-hand combat of the series thus far.

The episode titled "The Watchers on the Wall," was the ninth episode of the fourth season, and while the ninth episodes of each season are usually filled with the most shock worthy moments, this one kind of steered clear of that, maybe to keep fans on their toes.

The fourth season of the HBO fantasy series has been a little draggy in parts, but always met with one or two scenes that made the hour-long episode worth watching.

Well this episode was no exception. Focusing entirely on the Night's Watch and Wilding battle, this episode gave us all the face time of Jon Snow that we could ever want.

**Spoiler Alert**

The one scene that did however make the episode worthwhile was the unfortunate death of Snow's love interest Ygritte.

Fans took to Twitter to express their angry, frustration, and happiness at the events that took place during last night's episode.

@bbbbbbrad tweets, "Never been more excited by an episode of Game of Thrones in 4 series than I have been in that 30 minutes!!"

@Ygritte_GoT comments "from 1 to Ygritte how pissed are you? Very Pissed."

@JoeCurtis91 writes, "That boy who shot Ygritte thru the heart reminds Jon Snow of the most golden rule in the Night's Watch: Crows before Hoes #GoT."

@iThink_2much tweets, "The only good part of tonight's #GoT episode was when that little boy shot Ygritte through the heart."
