The Arrow Season 2 finale had plenty of twists, surprises, jaw-dropping moments and, of course, action. But according to star Stephen Amell, it was also supposed to feature Batman villainess Harley Quinn.

Fans of the CW series may remember that the Joker's sidekick made a cameo appearance in Episode 16, entitled "Suicide Squad," of this last season in a yellow jumpsuit in captivity. Cassidy Alexa played the character and Tara Strong gave her voice, but we never saw her after that.

Amell appeared at the recent Phoenix Comic Con in Arizona and a fan asked about her cameo in that installment, as well as the character's potential future on the show. The actor confirmed that it was, in fact, Harley Quinn.

"I don't know if she's going to be involved in Season 3, but the high-pitched voice in Episode 16 was absolutely Harley Quinn," he said (via ComicBook.com). "I didn't know about any of this, by the way, because I wasn't in that scene. But I'm a fan and I remember seeing that preview and feeling like I should have known that this was going to happen!"

He then revealed the character was supposed to come back in the Season 2 finale. "I also know that there was an additional scene with that character in the finale -- again, still in the cell, still with her back to us -- but it had to be cut for time."
