Game of Thrones aired its penultimate episode, "The Watchers on the Wall," last Sunday and now fans of the HBO series have just one more episode to savor in Season 4. The finale, entitled "The Children," airs this Sunday and showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss certainly did not mince their words when previewing the final Season 4 installment.

"It's the best finale we've ever done, bar none," they said in a statement (via EW.com). "The performances from our cast, the direction from Alex Graves, the VFX work, the new [music] cues from Ramin Djawadi-all of it came together in perhaps the finest hour we've produced. We're immensely proud of 'The Children.' And a little intimidated by the episode, because now we have to get back to the business of season five and figure out a way to top it."

The fate of Tyrion Lannister (Peter Dinklage) is of course a high priority, but the final hour will likely touch on all the major players before the 66-minute episode ends. Another item of note is Jon Snow's quest to take out Mance Rayder (Ciarán Hinds), the leader of the Wildling army.

Kit Harington spoke to TVLine about the great battle in the last episode and offered a bit of a preview for the finale regarding Jon Snow's mindset.

"At the end of [Episode] 9, and I spoke to [director] Alex Graves at the beginning of Episode 10, he's a dead man walking. Whatever emotion he did have is so distorted by what he feels he has to do at the end of Episode 9. I think he doesn't expect to live. The thing about Jon is, every season, he's walking the green mile to his death sentence, yet he keeps surviving. He's used to it by this point, but this is such a low point for him. He's so broken by everything that has happened in Episode 9 that I really didn't think of emotions with it, really."
