'Star Wars 7' Casting News, Rumors: 'Star Trek Into Darkness' Star Simon Pegg Has 'Secret Role' In J.J. Abrams' 'Episode VII'?

According to some insiders, Simon Pegg was spotted on the Abu Dhabi set of friend J.J. Abrams' big motion picture project, Star Wars: Episode VII. For now this rumor is definitely not confirmed, but we can have fun imagining Pegg having some sort of secret role on the film, can't we?

If Pegg is in fact in the movie, he joins other cast members John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson, Max von Sydow, Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Lupita Nyong'o, Gwendoline Christie, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew, and Kenny Baker.

If not, it's still nice to know the cast!

This casting rumor goes against Pegg's comments from last year when he was asked about working with his Star Trek director again.

"I don't think it would be appropriate for me to be in it, to be honest," he told the Independent last fall. "I think J.J. should cast new faces with no stunt casting."

Though he could've just not known about the role back then. Or he could've been lying as well. Remember that whole big deal about Benedict Cumberbatch's Star Trek Into Darkness character actually being Khan before the film came out, and then Pegg said that that was definitely not true? Well, we all know how that turned out.

This rumor of Pegg's Star War involvement is pretty vague, with no speculation on what character he'd be playing, but it's still exciting to think about! His comic relief was a great addition to the Star Trek films so why not Episode VII?
