Rapper Nicki Minaj released behind-the-scenes footage of her upcoming music video "Pound the Alarm," which was filmed at her hometown Trinidad.

"Pound the Alarm' video shoot, in my homeland, where I was born. We're here baby. Trinidad!" the rapper says in the opening scenes.

The video shows Minaj been welcomed by her screaming fans at the airport and shooting scenes at Trinidad's streets and neighborhoods with her dancing crew dressed in carnival themed outfits.

"I never thought in a million years I would ever do this," she says in the new teaser. "The last time I came to Trinidad, this was the exact room that I stayed in. This is where we shot 'My Time Now' for MTV. My whole family came in," she says in the behind-the-scenes video.

"Always bitter sweet when I have to leave my country. Had the best time of my life shooting this video. Thank you Trinidad! Next Stop: PARIS," the rapper says.

"Pound the Alarm," is a single of her album "Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded."

The release of this exclusive footage comes as Minaj returns to the United States to continue with her "Roman Reloaded Worldwide Tour 2012."

She last performed in Europe and is scheduled to perform in 17 cities for the U.S. leg of her tour which kicks off in Chicago on Monday and wraps up August 11 in Seattle.

Minaj recently won Best Female Hip-Hop Artist at the 2012 BET Awards early July.
