Without their star player Radamel Falcao this World Cup was never going to be easy, however, this Colombia side are loaded with talent, which is why many predicted them to win their group. So far, after one game, they've lived up to the hype as they disposed of Greece, beating them 3-0. Colombia never got out of second gear, and looked a class above them throughout.
A goal early in the first half and 13 minutes in to the second half ensured they had a 2-0 lead with little time to go. All they needed was some of their South American resilience, which they had plenty of. Late, with seconds remaining, the highly-rated James Rodriguez netted a third for the Colombians. The winger is wanted by many of the world's best clubs, so this goal will only add to his value.
Colombia's eyes will be starting to wonder towards England's group, as it's highly likely they will face either them or their group rivals, Italy, if they were to all, as expected, qualify. Whilst they wouldn't be the favourite, nobody would rule them out of beating England or Italy. Whoever they face, it looks like it'll be an exciting clash between two attacking teams.
Colombia will be happy, but they might be wishing they'd has Falcao at their disposal, too. Just imagine how good they'd be with Falcao and Rodriguez at their disposal? Just how far can they go at the 2014 World Cup? Could they win it all, or is that one step too far?
