Are you that somebody?

Clearly Zendaya Coleman is.

The Disney Channel star has just landed the role of the late singer Aaliyah in VH1's biopic about her life. The project has been in development since earlier last year when the singer's uncle Barry Hankerson alluded to the film.

Zendaya has beaten out many hopefully for the coveted role, including BET host Keisha Chante. Some are speculating that Coleman will play a younger version of the "One in a Million" singer and that the producers will cast someone else to portray an older Aaliyah.

The network hasn't made the official announcement yet, but sources say fans will know in the next few weeks. This speculation however, hasn't stopped Twitter users from ranting and raving about the casting choice, many of which have expressed their disappointment in the news.

@NaySakai writes, "Zendaya could do young Aaliyah... But after that they need to cast someone else."

@Blackgoddess93 writes, "I'm a huge Aaliyah fan. I do NOT want Zendaya Coleman playing Aaliyah in an upcoming movie."

@Drizzyxcole tweets, "They don't look alike but Zendaya can dance and act and her singing ain't that far off from Aaliyah's so."

Others discredit the late hip-hop star, saying that they don't even understand why VH1 would be making a documentary about her life.

@rxcey tweets, "I don't know why they're making a bio-pic about Aaliyah anyways the most iconic thing about her career was her plane crashing."

@callmedollar comments, "I don't know why the masses believe playing Aaliyah in a movie will be so "hard." Give that girl a bang, 2 hip rolls, and a smile! The end."

@steenfox writes, "The streets don't NEED an Aaliyah biopic. Let Babygirl rest."
