Have you ever thought of acting in a TV Show alongside Donal Logue (Terriers) and Ben McKenzie (Southland)? The opportunity may come up because the highly anticipated Batman TV series, Gotham, is looking to cast background extras.

As mentioned here, the Batman prequel series will be set in the '70s. The time period is essential because viewers will be looking at Gotham City through the eyes of rookie detective Jim Gordon. We will see the heinous crime that forced the orphan Bruce Wayne to don the Bat-suit. The freaks of Gotham, such as The Riddler, Catwoman, and Poison Ivy, are all at their beginning stages in the mob-ruled city.

According to Grant Wilfley Casting, the open casting call will be held on June 25. If you are at the New York City area, SAG members and nonunion people should be at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church on 14th Street. The casting agency will be looking at men and women of all ages and ethnicities to fill in the empty roles.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, McKenzie, who plays Gordon, explains why it is essential the police drama is filmed in New York, "To me, this show has to be shot in New York. New York is Gotham and Gotham is New York. It's been incredible to be here. This is my first time shooting here. It's exactly the look and feel and energy that you just cannot fake in a backlot."

On June 25, actors who want to audition for Gotham should visit Grant Wilfley Casting official website. Readers do you think Gotham City will look more like Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight version or Tim Burton's Batman vision?
