The Season 2 finale of the CW's Arrow featured a moment that made many of the show's 'shippers squeal with delight when Oliver told Felicity that he truly loved her. Unfortunately, it was all a ploy designed to get Felicity close enough to Slade in order to stop the villain. A new report, though, reveals the show filmed an even greater "Olicity" moment that never made the final cut of the episode.

The "Spoiler Chat" column at E! Online reports the Season 2 finale could have featured a kiss between the two characters:

"We can confirm that there was in fact a kiss filmed between Oliver and Felicity for Arrow's season two finale that ultimately hit the cutting room floor. But it was pre-reveal that Ollie's 'I love you' was just a ploy (But was it really?!) to trick Slade, so that doesn't really count, right? Right?!"

In related news, TVLine recently reported that Felicity could get a new love interest when the show returns in Season 3, which would certainly throw a wrench into any "Olicity" hopes. Here's what the site had to say about the new character, possibly named Daniel:

"Though Daniel could be a fake name to throw off spoilerholics, this 20something gent - a major recurring character for Season 3 - is a handsome, enigmatic and highly intelligent entrepreneur developing groundbreaking technology. (Picture a business magnate in Ryan Gosling's body.) Though exuding charm and confidence in public, he privately harbors a tragic past that will drive him to become a tech-powered superhero. Watch for this formidable fella to be a love interest for Felicity and a rival of Oliver's - both personally and professionally."

Would you have wanted to see an "Olicity" kiss in the finale even it were fake? Let us know in the comments below.
