The latest victim of the infamous celebrity death hoax - "Sons of Anarchy" hottie, Charlie Hunnam.

A BOGUS Facebook page entitled "RIP Charlie Hunnam" went viral over the weekend - and fans totally freaked-out. Thankfully, the account was eventually deleted. But the damage was already done.

Especially when this fake news report later hit the web through the popular social networking site.

Apparently, the former Christian Grey favorite tragically passed-away in a car crash in Virginia:

At about 11 a.m. ET on Sunday (June 15, 2014), our beloved actor Charlie Hunnam passed away. Charlie Hunnam was born on April 10, 1980 in Newcastle upon Tyne. He will be missed but not forgotten. Please show your sympathy and condolences by commenting on and liking this page.

Simply untrue. When shocked fans click on the link (GOOGONLINE.COM), they're directed to a page which states, "You Got Owned."

Aka - it's all a prank.

And Twitter fans are NOT amused:

@chrishhh_quiles: "Is Charlie Hunnam really dead!?!? Someone plzzz tell me is not true."

@SolomonJaclyn: "If Charlie Hunnam is really dead I might just cry #jaxisababe."

@neaato: "Here is a rip. Look at the source. Have u heard it before???? Me neither."

@ShelbyNagel: "There's a link on Facebook that says Charlie Hunnam is dead and season 7 of SOA isn't going to happen. It's a prank but I still cried."

@holidayspecial: "OMG not JAX!!! #SonsOfAnarchy."

So just to be clear - Hunnam is NOT dead! The actor's rep later released this official statement to calm the morbid rumors:

"[Charlie] joins the long list of celebrities who have been victimized by this hoax. He's still alive and well, stop believing what you see on the Internet."
