Bruce Springsteen wowed a crowd of nearly 80,000 fan at the London's Hard Rock Calling event on Saturday night.  The concert was full of energy and special guest Sir Paul McCartney joined Springsteen on stage as the big surprise at the end of the concert.

Unfortunately, the 3-hour long concert ended when the microphones got cut off in the middle of the special song because the concert passed the curfew.

Some fans were angry.  Fans wanted more and shouted "Turn up the sound!"  The duo continued to sing on the stage despite the speakers being turned off.

"One of the great gigs ever in my opinion. But seriously, when did England become a police state? We break curfews in every country... We would have been off by 11 if we'd done one more. On a Saturday night! Who were we disturbing?" Stevie Van Zandt posted on Twitter.

He continued to rant on Twitter saying, "The cops got nothing more important to do? How about they go catch some criminals instead of f**king with 80,000 people having a good time? English cops may be the only individuals left on earth that wouldn't want to hear one more from Bruce Springsteen and Paul McCartney! I'm sorry but I have to be honest I'm p**sed."

"Like I said, it didn't ruin the great night. But when I'm jamming with McCartney don't bug me! If it's a public transport issue I'm sorry but people are adult enough to go get a train if they need to without the cops pulling the plug!"

Springsteen tweeted with understanding, "Hard Rock would have let us play all night. There's no grudges to be held. Just feel bad for our great fans. Hard Rock is cool. (Promoter) Live Nation is cool. It's some City Council stupid rule."

Correction: Monay, July 16, 2012:

An article on July 16, 2012, about Bruce Springsteen's concert at Hyde Park incorrected attributed Springsteen for all the tweets that were actually tweeted by Stevie Van Zandt.  Springsteen had no hard feelings and everyone who attended the concert was reported to have had a "fantastic" despite the shut down.
